Online Roulette
The two most popular versions of Roulette include American Roulette and European Roulette. American Roulette has two green zeros and European Roulette has one green zero. Microgaming, Playtech, Realtime Gaming and WMS Gaming have developed a fantastic range of online roulette varieties, which are available in the free play mode and in the real cash mode. Playtech has also developed a progressive jackpot roulette called Marvel Roulette.
Learning how to play roulette is quite easy. It would be a good idea to start by playing in the free play mode, unless you already know how to play, plus it would also be a good idea to browse through the rules on whichever version you decide to play. There are 36 individual positions/slots around the roulette wheel, plus one or two green zeros depending on which version you are playing.
The main aim in roulette is to guess where the white ball will come to rest after it has been released around the roulette wheel. Before the ball is launched, you can use the roulette betting table to place your bets, which can seem a little confusing when you take a look at it of the first time but the more you play, the quicker you will learn the different odds.
If you place a Straight Up Bet, it means that you want to put your money on the ball landing in one single position, which will pay odds of 35:1 The minimum bet required is usually $/€/£1.00 so if you guess number ‘8’ and the ball lands on number ‘8’, you will be paid $/€/£35.00 plus your initial stake of $/€/£1.00 (so a total of $/€/£36.00).
Other bets include Split (where you put the chips in between two connected numbers). This will pay 17:1. A Street Bet (which contains three numbers such as 1, 2, 3, or 4, 5, 6) pays 11:1. A Corner Bet pays 8:1. With this bet, you can strategically place you chips on the corner of four numbers. A Line Bet (which contains six numbers) pays 5:1 and a Colum Bet or Dozen Bet (both contain 12 numbers) pays 2:1. Other bets include Red/Black, Odd/Even and numbers 1-18 or 19-36.
