Online Gambling Site Skating On The Edge
Added: June 5, 2017
There is something of a test case if you will about to take place in the state of New Jersey. Recall that of all the states in the U.S., it is the state of New Jersey that has been at the forefront of advancing legal online gambling sites and online casinos.
What is new is that one of the existing casinos in New Jersey is looking to take this one step further. In this case, the gambling site is none other than that of Atlantic City Resorts Casino. The rather bold move by Atlantic City Resorts is a new partnership with B2B Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) supplier Sports AD.
Here is what this is all about. There is a new gambling site on the edge of being launched. Naturally, as part of the New Jersey legal gambling framework, this new gambling site will only be available to New Jersey residents. For the record, the name picked for this new site is FastPick.
Even more interesting is the fact the FastPick is clearly looking to move into daily fantasy sports betting. Yet as you probably know, the fact of the matter is that the issue of daily fantasy sports betting is still winding its way through the court system.
In other words, FastPick seems to about a gambling service that is not yet been deemed legal by the court system. What is really going on here? Get this: at this point in time, FastPick has engineered an innovative work around.
You see, instead of the traditional daily fantasy sports betting that you can experience at sites such as DraftKings and FanDuel, FastPick goes about this a bit differently. The way that this is set up is that daily fantasy sports bettors will pick a winner from a series of three to ten player match-ups.
The CEO of Sports AD, Joe Brennan puts it this way: “ we wanted to get something as close to traditional single game play as we could, but still have it be compliant with fantasy rules…I think this is as close you can get right now.”
Well there you go. A rather clever workaround existing daily fantasy sports betting restrictions to be sure. Obviously when and if the state of New Jersey prevails in its legal endeavors to legalize daily fantasy sports betting, FastPick can rather easily adjust.
Bottom line: New Jersey is once again leading the way in pushing the envelope for legal online gambling action. Watch this one as it could have far reaching consequences.
